Courtney Holden is a travel and adventure writer ever grateful that her hobbies and profession intersect. That’s a fairly new development. After spending a decade working in brand strategy and consumer insights and only dabbling in writing, she finally decided to put her master’s in Journalism from the University of Colorado, Boulder to use. In the past few years she’s turned to writing full-time and has had the opportunity to cover eco-friendly ski gear for AFAR, septuagenarian cyclists for Bicycling, and synchronous fireflies for Smithsonian Magazine. Though she relishes her time spent sipping craft coffee and typing away at her desk (technically, the kitchen table), she’s happiest exploring a new trail–near or far from her home in Boulder, Colorado with her husband and son.
